The Cowboys are the hottest team nobody talks about. They beat Philadelphia and Kansas City back to back to reach 6-5-1. Dak Prescott is playing MVP-level football. The defense looks completely different since they added Quinnen Williams at the trade deadline.
Detroit is dealing with a brutal injury situation. Amon-Ra St. Brown is out with an ankle injury. Sam LaPorta is sidelined too. The Lions offense has averaged just 22.3 points over the last three weeks. They lost to Green Bay on Thanksgiving and cannot afford another home loss.
The matchup favors Dallas in every way. Detroit’s defense has surrendered nine passing touchdowns and a 105.6 passer rating over the past month. Prescott will take advantage of these secondary issues all night long. The Cowboys defensive line should dominate Detroit’s banged-up offensive line.
Both teams played on Thanksgiving so the short rest is equal. Dallas has momentum and health on their side. Detroit is depleted on offense and vulnerable on defense. This feels like bad timing for the Lions against a surging Cowboys team.

The Dolphins have completely flipped their season since mid-October. They are 4-1 over the last five games and have clawed back to 5-7. Miami’s defense has improved dramatically against the run. That matters today against Breece Hall and the Jets ground attack.
The Jets are done at 3-9. They have lost six straight games. The offense is inconsistent and the quarterback situation remains a mess. They showed some fight against Atlanta but this team has quit on the season.
Miami has everything working right now. De’Von Achane has been explosive out of the backfield. Tua Tagovailoa is protecting the football. The defense is creating turnovers at the right time. They need every win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
The Jets defense can play tough at times. But they are not stopping this Dolphins offense. Miami controls this game from start to finish.

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-6) @ Baltimore Ravens (6-6)

This is the game of the week. Both teams sit at 6-6 and are tied atop the AFC North. The winner takes sole possession of first place with five games remaining. The loser falls into a deep hole in the division race.
Baltimore is coming off that embarrassing Thanksgiving loss to Cincinnati. Joe Burrow destroyed them 32-14 in prime time. Lamar Jackson is dealing with three leg injuries right now. He has a toe problem plus hamstring and knee issues. He has not looked like himself in weeks. The Ravens get a mini bye after playing Thursday so that should help.
Pittsburgh lost to Buffalo 26-7 last week. The offense struggled without Aaron Rodgers who sat out with a wrist injury. The defense could not slow down Josh Allen at all. The Steelers are 6-6 and desperate for a division win to stay alive.
The Ravens own recent history in this rivalry. They have won the last two meetings against Pittsburgh. Baltimore’s defense ranks fourth in quarterback pressure rate over the past two weeks. Derrick Henry gives them a chance even with a limited Lamar Jackson.
This will be ugly football. AFC North games in December always are. Both defenses will dominate the line of scrimmage. The Ravens at home with extra rest makes the difference in a low-scoring battle.

New Orleans Saints (2-10) @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-5)

Tampa Bay nearly choked away their win against Arizona but held on 20-17 to snap their losing streak. They are 7-5 and leading the NFC South race. Baker Mayfield should have more weapons available this week after dealing with injuries.
New Orleans is 2-10 and eliminated from playoff contention. Tyler Shough has been getting reps at quarterback. The Saints are clearly playing for 2026 draft position now. They do not have the firepower to compete with Tampa Bay’s offense.
The Buccaneers need to take control of this division. Carolina is breathing down their necks at 7-6. A home win against an eliminated opponent should be straightforward. Mayfield and the offense will put up points early and coast to victory.

Indianapolis Colts (8-4) @ Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4)

This is a massive AFC South showdown between two 8-4 teams. The Jaguars lead the division thanks to tiebreakers. They beat Tennessee 25-3 last week as Trevor Lawrence protected the ball well. The defense dominated from start to finish.
The Colts lost to Houston 20-16 and dropped into a tie with Jacksonville. The bigger problem is they lost Sauce Gardner to injury in Week 13. Gardner suffered a calf strain on the second play of the game. He is week to week and will miss this matchup. That is devastating news for Indianapolis.
Gardner has been their best defensive player since arriving in the trade deadline deal. Without him this secondary is vulnerable against Jacksonville’s receivers. Lawrence and the Jaguars receiving corps will exploit that Gardner absence all day long.
Jacksonville’s pass rush has been dominant lately with 12 sacks over four games. Daniel Jones will face constant pressure behind a struggling offensive line. The Colts need Jones to play cleaner football than he did against Kansas City.
This is a must-win game for the Jaguars at home. They can build a two-game division lead with five weeks remaining. Jacksonville takes control of the AFC South with a victory.

Tennessee Titans (1-11) @ Cleveland Browns (3-9)
Sunday, December 7, 1:00 PM ET | CBS
The bottom-feeder battle has some intrigue this week. Shedeur Sanders makes his third career start for Cleveland. He won his debut against the Raiders 24-10. That made him the first Browns rookie QB to win his first start since 1999. He lost to San Francisco 26-8 in Week 13 but showed some promise.
Tennessee is 1-11 and tanking for top draft position. Cam Ward has shown some flashes at quarterback. But he is taking a beating behind that offensive line every week. The Titans scored just three points against Jacksonville and have clearly quit on the season.
The Browns defense is legit even with a bad record. Myles Garrett is chasing the single-season sack record. He needs five sacks in the final six games to break the all-time mark. Ward and Tennessee’s offensive line will not be able to handle him at all.
Sanders will not need to be spectacular in this one. Cleveland’s defense will overwhelm Tennessee’s offense from the opening snap. This will be low-scoring and ugly. The Browns grind out a win at home.

Washington Commanders (3-9) @ Minnesota Vikings (4-8)
Sunday, December 7, 1:00 PM ET | FOX
Both teams are coming off brutal losses in Week 13. Minnesota got shut out 26-0 by Seattle with undrafted rookie Max Brosmer at quarterback. That was their first shutout since 2007. The Vikings have lost five of their last six games and are falling apart.
Washington lost in overtime to Denver 27-26. Jayden Daniels remains questionable with his elbow injury. Even with him healthy the Commanders are falling apart at 3-9. They have nothing to play for except draft position at this point.
The Vikings defense is outstanding and can win games even with terrible quarterback play. Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison provide explosive playmaking ability. One big play from either receiver can flip this game in Minnesota’s favor.
This will be ugly if Brosmer starts again for the Vikings. But Minnesota’s defense should force turnovers and give the offense short fields. The Commanders are 3-9 with nothing to play for down the stretch.

Seattle Seahawks (9-3) @ Atlanta Falcons (4-8)
Sunday, December 7, 1:00 PM ET | FOX
The Seahawks demolished Minnesota 26-0 last week in a complete shutout. Geno Smith was efficient throwing the football. The defense pitched a shutout against a division opponent. Seattle is 9-3 and rolling toward the playoffs with momentum.
They are 5-1 against the spread on the road this season. That makes them one of the best road teams in football right now. The Seahawks know how to win away from home.
Atlanta is 4-8 after losing to the Jets 27-24 last week. Kirk Cousins threw one touchdown but the offense could not sustain drives. The Falcons special teams remains a complete disaster. They are on their third kicker of the season. They are allowing 29.8 yards per kickoff return which ranks dead last in the league.
The Falcons only hope is Bijan Robinson having a monster game on the ground. But Seattle has a top-three run defense in the NFL. Robinson will not find running room against this front seven. The Seahawks offense can exploit Atlanta’s vulnerable defense with ease.
This should be comfortable for Seattle from start to finish. They are better at every position on the field. They are playing with playoff intensity while Atlanta is just playing out the string.
Pick: Seahawks 27, Falcons 14
Cincinnati Bengals (4-8) @ Buffalo Bills (8-4)

Joe Burrow returned from suspension with a vengeance on Thanksgiving. He torched Baltimore for 32 points in prime time. The Bengals are 4-8 and eliminated from realistic playoff contention. But Burrow is playing for pride and his receivers are producing big numbers.
Buffalo bounced back from that Houston loss by destroying Pittsburgh 26-7 at home. Josh Allen rushed for a touchdown. That was his 76th career rushing score. He broke Cam Newton’s record for most by a quarterback in NFL history. The Bills are 8-4 and fighting hard for wild card positioning.
The weather will be a factor at Highmark Stadium. The extended forecast calls for cold temperatures with possible snow and strong wind gusts. That typically favors the running game and defense in December football.
Buffalo should jump out to an early lead. James Cook has been explosive in the ground game all season. Cincinnati’s defense ranks near the bottom in most metrics. They struggle against the run more than anything else. Burrow will make this interesting in the second half with his arm. But the Bengals defense cannot get stops when it matters most.

Sunday Afternoon Games
Denver Broncos (10-2) @ Las Vegas Raiders (2-10)

The Broncos are on a historic nine-game winning streak right now. They beat Washington 27-26 in overtime to reach 10-2 on the season. Bo Nix has been solid at quarterback. But this defense is elite and carries this team. Their pass rush is on a historic pace. They are dominating offensive lines every single week.
Las Vegas is a disaster at 2-10. They just fired offensive coordinator Chip Kelly after back to back blowout losses. The offense cannot protect the quarterback or move the ball down the field. They are in serious danger of finishing with just two wins. That would be the third time in franchise history and first since 2006.
This is a massive mismatch on paper and on the field. Denver’s defense will eat the Raiders offensive line alive from the opening snap. Las Vegas has no answers for the Broncos pass rush at all. Even with Nix not playing great the defense wins this game by itself.
The Raiders are tanking for top draft position. The Broncos are rolling toward their first division title since Peyton Manning retired. This could get very ugly very fast for Las Vegas.

Chicago Bears (9-3) @ Green Bay Packers (8-3-1)

This is the marquee matchup of Week 14. The Bears are 9-3 with a five-game winning streak. They hold the NFC’s number one seed right now. They beat Philadelphia 24-15 on Black Friday in a dominant performance. Kyle Monangai and D’Andre Swift both ran for over 100 yards in the victory. The Bears defense leads the entire NFL in turnovers this season.
Green Bay is 8-3-1 after beating Detroit on Thanksgiving 31-24 at Ford Field. Jordan Love threw three touchdowns in the win. The Packers have won three straight games and are playing their best football. They just lost Devonte Wyatt to a season-ending injury. That hurts their run defense going forward.
First place in the NFC North is on the line Sunday afternoon. Both teams run the ball exceptionally well on offense. Chicago averages 153.8 rushing yards per game. That ranks second in the entire NFL. Green Bay will focus on running against a Bears defense allowing 5.2 yards per carry.
The Bears are 8-2 against the spread this season. That is one of the best marks in football. They are road warriors who know how to win tight games on the road. But Lambeau Field in December is a different animal entirely. The Packers at home with Love playing at a high level gets the edge here.
This will come down to the final drive of the game. We are giving it to the better quarterback playing at home in front of his fans.

Los Angeles Rams (9-3) @ Arizona Cardinals (3-9)

The Rams suffered a shocking upset to Carolina 31-28 last week on the road. Matthew Stafford threw a pick-six in the loss. They had two turnovers in scoring range that killed drives. That was their first loss in weeks and serves as a wake-up call.
Arizona is 3-9 and eliminated from playoff contention. Jacoby Brissett is starting at quarterback for the Cardinals. The offensive line is in a terrible spot against the Rams dominant front seven. They will struggle to protect Brissett all afternoon.
Los Angeles is angry after that Carolina loss at home. Stafford does not have back-to-back bad games very often in his career. The Rams defense will dominate Arizona’s offensive line. They will make Brissett uncomfortable in the pocket all game long.
Brissett will hit Trey McBride and Marvin Harrison Jr. for some big plays. That will keep the score respectable into the fourth quarter. But Sean McVay’s offense will get back on track against a bad defense. The Rams will not lose two straight games.

Sunday Night Football
Houston Texans (7-5) @ Kansas City Chiefs (6-6)
Sunday, December 7, 8:20 PM ET | NBC
This is a playoff elimination game for both teams. The Chiefs are 6-6 after losing to Dallas on Thanksgiving. They are on the outside looking in at the playoffs for the first time in years. Patrick Mahomes has not looked right all season long. Another loss could doom their entire season and end their playoff hopes.
Houston is 7-5 after beating Indianapolis 20-16 last week. Their defense is one of the best units in the entire NFL right now. Will Anderson Jr. has sacked the quarterback in six straight games. C.J. Stroud is back healthy and playing efficient football for the offense.
The matchup favors Houston in almost every way. The Texans defense is perfectly designed to cause problems for Mahomes. Kansas City does not have a running game to keep Houston’s pass rush honest. Stroud just needs to make a few throws down the field. This defense will handle the rest and get crucial stops.
Arrowhead Stadium has been kind to Kansas City this year. They are 4-1-1 at home entering Week 14. But the Chiefs have not shown they are a great team this year. They are surviving games not dominating opponents like years past.
This is our upset pick for Sunday Night Football. The Texans defense travels well on the road. They get a fourth-down stop late in the game. That seals Kansas City’s seventh loss of the season and seriously damages their playoff hopes.

Monday Night Football
Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) @ Los Angeles Chargers (8-4)

The Eagles are reeling after consecutive losses to Dallas and Chicago. They have fallen to 8-4 and lost control of the NFC East race. Jalen Hurts and the offense looked completely out of sync in both games. The play calling has been questionable and the execution has been poor.
The Chargers are 8-4 coming off their win over the Raiders at home. Justin Herbert suffered a fracture in his non-throwing hand against Las Vegas. He had a procedure on Monday but is treating it like he will play. His effectiveness is a major question mark for this game.
The bigger issue for Los Angeles is their offensive line. It has been abysmal all season long at protecting the quarterback. Philadelphia’s front four with Vic Fangio’s aggressive scheme will feast on this matchup. The Eagles pass rush should dominate from the opening snap.
Philadelphia’s offense has struggled the past two weeks. But this game will be won on defense not offense. Fangio will turn up the blitz packages and rattle Herbert all night long. The Chargers will not be able to protect him against this pressure.
This will not be pretty to watch. It will be a low-scoring defensive struggle all night. But Philadelphia’s defense is the most dominant unit on the field between these two teams.
