SoFi Stadium Super Bowl 2027: Bag Policy, Parking and Seating

SoFi Stadium hosts the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 14, 2027. The venue rules matter as much as your ticket. SoFi runs a clear bag policy, turns away every car without a parking pass, and bans a longer list of items than most fans expect.

Footballs are prohibited. So are iPads, strollers and hard-sided water bottles.

This guide pulls the rules straight from SoFi Stadium’s own policy pages. What you can bring, where to park, how to get there without a car, and which seating level gives you the best view. The NFL sets stricter policies for a Super Bowl, so I update this page as event-specific rules are published.

SoFi Stadium Bag Policy

SoFi Stadium is a clear bag venue. Three options get through the gate.

Bag typeMaximum size
Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bag12 by 6 by 12 inches
One-gallon clear freezer bagStandard Ziploc size
Small non-clear bag or clutch4.5 by 6.5 inches

Here is the part most guides get wrong. Clear backpacks and clear fanny packs are allowed at SoFi, as long as they stay inside 12 by 6 by 12 inches. The ban applies to non-clear versions.

Clear means completely clear. No tint, no hologram, no printed patterns, no stickers.

Oversized bags must go back to your vehicle or into a bag valet. SoFi operates four bag valet locations around the exterior perimeter for a small fee, offered at selective events. SoFi cardholders check bags free.

Bag policy can change by event. Check the Know Before You Go email you receive before the game.

Prohibited Items at SoFi Stadium

Bags: purses larger than a clutch, non-clear backpacks, non-clear fanny packs, coolers, briefcases, computer bags, camera bags, cinch bags, luggage.

Food and drink: all outside food and beverages, alcohol, glass or metal containers, hard-sided water bottles.

Technology: professional cameras, cameras with detachable lenses or lenses over 6 inches, GoPro cameras, laptops, tablets and iPads, handheld game consoles, drones, selfie sticks.

Gear: balls of any type including footballs, frisbees, authentic hard-shelled helmets, balloons, inflatables, tents, stickers, umbrellas.

Family items: strollers, wagons and car seats, though all three can be checked at the bag valet.

Other: laser pointers, air horns and artificial noisemakers, lawn chairs, weapons of any kind, fireworks, drugs including marijuana, vapes and e-cigarettes.

Emotional support animals are not permitted. Trained service animals are.

What Surprises People

Some things are allowed that fans assume are banned, and the other way round.

Allowed: one factory-sealed water bottle of 20 oz or less per person. An empty clear or soft-sided reusable bottle up to 20 oz. Soft-sided juice or milk containers. Binoculars with a case that fits the bag rules. Non-heated blankets. Soft replica helmets and mini helmets. Soft seat cushions up to 22 by 16 inches.

Not allowed: a football. Referee apparel. Any sign that is political or commercial. Seat cushions with pockets, metal or hard materials.

Signs and banners are permitted up to 3 feet by 5 feet. They must be event-related, made of paper or light cloth, and cannot be hung, cannot block another fan’s view, and cannot carry lights or batteries. Any pole must be soft bendable plastic under 2 feet.

SoFi Stadium Parking for Super Bowl LXI

Every guest needs a parking pass. Arrive without one and you are turned away and sent to off-site options.

Day-of sales sometimes exist but inventory is very limited and prices rise at the gate. For NFL events SoFi describes on-site inventory as extremely limited. Buy ahead.

Passes are colour-coded by zone: Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Yellow, Red and Platinum. Your pass only opens the gate for your own zone. A green pass at the orange gate gets turned around.

DetailWhat to know
Where to buyParkWhiz, the stadium’s official parking partner
Payment at gateCredit card only
Lots open4 to 5 hours before an NFL kickoff
Lots closeAbout 1 hour after the event ends
Space guaranteeYes with a pass, though you may be redirected to another zone at peak times
Street parkingNone. Inglewood runs a residential permit system with ticketing and towing

SoFi does not publish parking prices in advance. Fees vary by event and zone, and get announced when the event goes on sale. Third-party parking data puts recent NFL games in the 40 to 100 dollar range and the 2026 World Cup matches far higher, so budget well above a normal game day.

Expect vehicle security screening on Super Bowl Sunday, which can include a canine sweep. Refusing a search means no entry.

Off-site, the City of Inglewood runs Park and Go, with remote lots and shuttles to the Intermodal Transit Facility next to the stadium. Book in advance, since drive-up rates cost more.

How to Get to SoFi Stadium Without a Car

SoFi lists five alternatives to driving, and they are cheaper than any lot.

Metro rail plus shuttle. Take the Metro C Line or K Line to LAX/Metro Transit Center Station, then board the free SoFi Stadium shuttle at Bus Bay 8. This is the stadium’s own recommended route.

GTrans Line 7X from Harbor Gateway Transit Center. Park free, ride for 4 dollars round trip.

Torrance Transit special service, 4 dollars round trip.

Culver CityBus Line 99 Express, 2 dollars round trip.

Rideshare. Drop-off runs on the northbound curb lane of Kareem Court, reached via westbound Pincay Drive. Pickup sits at Kareem Court and Manchester Boulevard. Drop-off moves quickly. Pickup after a 70,000 person event does not, and surge pricing runs hard.

Bike parking exists across the district, but bring your own lock. Bird and Lime scooters are banned in Inglewood.

Confirm schedules on Metro’s game day page before you travel, since Super Bowl service differs from a regular Sunday.

Tailgating Rules

Tailgating happens at SoFi, but under tight rules.

It is permitted only in the Hyundai Pink zone, only at select events, and only with a tailgating pass. Areas open four hours before kickoff and all tailgating stops at kickoff.

Propane and natural gas grills only. No charcoal, no wood stoves, no oil fryers, no open fires. No glass containers. Tents are allowed but stakes cannot go into the ground. Generators must be 600W or under.

You tailgate directly behind your own vehicle, up to the marked fire lane. You cannot buy extra spaces to expand your setup.

Whether tailgating runs at all for Super Bowl LXI is the NFL’s call. Check the event parking terms before you buy.

SoFi Stadium Seating Chart Explained

Five levels, and they behave differently from a normal NFL stadium.

LevelWhat you get
100Field level, closest to the action, highest prices
200SoFi Club, all-inclusive food and drink, lounge access
300Mezzanine, widely rated the best value tier
400Upper bowl, strong sideline views, faces the screen
500Highest tier, cheapest seats, clean unobstructed sightlines

Midfield sideline sections carry the most value on every level. End zone seats give a straight-on view of scoring plays but make drives harder to follow.

The Infinity Screen by Samsung is the SoFi difference. It wraps the entire field at roughly upper deck eye level and is the largest videoboard in professional sports. From the 400 and 500 levels it sits directly in your view, which makes the upper deck here far more watchable than the upper deck almost anywhere else.

You are always trading proximity against the screen. The 300 level midfield sections balance both best.

When to Arrive

For NFL games, SoFi opens parking lots 4 to 5 hours before kickoff and entry gates 2 to 3 hours before. The stadium tells fans to arrive as soon as parking gates open.

Take that seriously for a Super Bowl. Screening is heavier, the security perimeter is wider, and pre-game programming starts long before kickoff.

The ETFE canopy covers the seating bowl and field, but the sides stay open. You are dry, not warm. Los Angeles highs in mid-February usually reach about 68F and it cools fast after sunset, so bring a layer.

FAQ About SoFi Stadium

Can I bring a clear backpack to SoFi Stadium?

Yes. SoFi Stadium permits clear backpacks and clear fanny packs as long as they do not exceed 12 by 6 by 12 inches and are completely transparent. Non-clear backpacks are prohibited in every size. Tint, patterns and stickers all disqualify a bag.

Can I bring a water bottle into SoFi Stadium?

Yes, with limits. Each guest may bring one factory-sealed water bottle of 20 oz or less. Empty clear or soft-sided reusable bottles up to 20 oz are also permitted. Hard-sided bottles and glass or metal containers are prohibited.

Is there bag storage at SoFi Stadium?

SoFi Stadium operates four bag valet locations around the exterior perimeter, offered at selective events for a small fee. SoFi cardholders check bags free. Strollers, wagons and car seats can also be checked there rather than taken inside.

Can I bring a camera to the Super Bowl?

Small personal-use cameras are permitted. Professional-grade cameras, any camera with a detachable lens or a lens longer than 6 inches, GoPro cameras and video recording devices are all prohibited. Camera bags are banned regardless of contents.

Are signs and banners allowed at SoFi Stadium?

Yes, up to 3 feet by 5 feet. Signs must be event-related and made of paper or lightweight cloth. Commercial, obscene, offensive and political signs are prohibited, as are battery-operated or lit signs. Nothing may be hung anywhere in the venue.

Is tailgating allowed at SoFi Stadium?

Tailgating is permitted only in the Hyundai Pink parking zone, only at select events, and only with a tailgating pass. Areas open four hours before kickoff and close at kickoff. Propane and natural gas grills only, and no charcoal.

Can I park at SoFi Stadium without a pass?

Not reliably. Every guest must hold a parking pass or be turned away toward off-site options. Day-of sales are limited and cost more than prepaid passes. Parking gates accept credit cards only, and there is no street parking anywhere nearby.

How far is SoFi Stadium from LAX?

SoFi Stadium sits about three miles from LAX. The stadium’s own recommended transit route is the Metro C Line or K Line to LAX/Metro Transit Center Station, then the free SoFi Stadium shuttle from Bus Bay 8.

Knowing the SoFi Stadium Super Bowl rules before you travel saves you the two things that ruin a game day: a bag that will not clear security and a car with nowhere to park.

Pack one clear bag, buy your parking pass the day it goes on sale or plan on Metro, and arrive when the lots open rather than when the gates do.
