The Bears drew five primetime games in 2026, which ties for their most since at least 2000, and for the first time in franchise history they play on a Thursday, a Friday, a Saturday, a Sunday and a Monday in the same season. This is the first of those primetime dates and the first of two Monday night games. Chicago also appears on both Thanksgiving and Christmas, another franchise first.

The roster underneath all that is close to half new. Camp opened with 54 returning players and 37 newcomers, among them safety Coby Bryant, who arrived with a Super Bowl ring and whom Dennis Allen said epitomizes the way Chicago wants to play. Allen also admitted the defense spent last season installing a scheme at the cost of its fundamentals, which is at least a specific problem rather than a vague one.

Getting to Soldier Field on a Monday Night

A weeknight kickoff changes the plan for Eagles vs Bears. Lots around the stadium open four hours before kickoff and need a pre-paid pass, but the night game rules are the ones that catch people out: tailgating during the game and after night games is prohibited on the Museum Campus, and the lots close immediately once a night game ends rather than staying open for three hours the way they do after day games. Parking in the residential streets between Roosevelt and Cermak is prohibited and enforced with tow trucks.

The train is the easier answer. The CTA #128 Soldier Field Express runs non-stop from Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station, starting two hours before kickoff and stopping 30 minutes after it. The Red, Orange and Green Lines all stop at Roosevelt, where you can catch the #146 bus or walk east through Museum Campus. The South Shore Line drops at McCormick Place on 18th Street, one block south of the stadium. Afterwards, the #128 and #146 board at the East Museum Lot on McFetridge at Special Olympics Drive, and ride share pickups happen only at Balbo and Columbus. One more thing worth knowing for Eagles vs Bears: buses, taxis and limousines cannot enter the Soldier Field campus from 90 minutes after kickoff until an hour after the game ends.
