The 2024 NFL Playoffs are starting this weekend, and it’s called Wild Card Weekend. It’s going to be exciting with three big NFL games. You can watch them on NBC or stream them on Peacock.
The fun begins on Saturday, January 13, with the Cleveland Browns playing against the Houston Texans at 4:30 PM ET.
Later that evening, at 8:00 PM ET, the Miami Dolphins will play against the Kansas City Chiefs. This game will be only on Peacock, so you can stream it there.
Neither the Browns nor the Texans have ever made it to the Super Bowl, but they’re hoping to change that this Saturday.

Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are in the NFL playoffs for the second time in four years. Their last appearance was in 2020, but they didn’t get past the Divisional Round.
This season, they’ve won 11 games, despite having to use five different quarterbacks. Deshaun Watson, a key player, was out after November due to shoulder surgery. Joe Flacco, an experienced 38-year-old quarterback, stepped in and performed well. He won four of his five games, throwing for 1,616 yards and 13 touchdowns, although he had nine turnovers.
Joe Flacco has a long football history. He spent 11 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, one season with the Denver Broncos, and three with the New York Jets. This Wild Card game will be his seventh playoff appearance as a starting quarterback. He’s been successful in past playoffs, never losing a Wild Card round game.
Earlier in the season, the Browns beat the Texans 36-22 at NRG Stadium.
Houston Texans
The Houston Texans did something amazing this season. They won their division with two new guys: C.J. Stroud, a new quarterback, and DeMeco Ryans, a new head coach. This is a big deal because it’s never happened before in the Super Bowl era.
C.J. Stroud, just 22 years old, was one of the first players chosen in the 2023 NFL Draft. He played 15 games and won 9 of them. He threw for over 4,000 yards, got 23 touchdowns, and had 5 interceptions. He also ran for 3 touchdowns.
This Saturday’s game is Stroud’s first NFL playoff, but he’s used to big games from college. At Ohio State, he played in two big college games. Last year, he threw for 348 yards and 4 touchdowns in a close game. The year before, he set records and won the Rose Bowl.
The last time the Texans were in the playoffs was in 2019. They won their division but lost in the next round to the Chiefs.
