It’s August! The excitement is building as the 2024 NFL preseason is about to kick off! NFL released the entire 2024 preseason schedule.
The 2024 NFL preseason starts on August 1 with the Pro Football Hall of Fame game. The Houston Texans will play against the Chicago Bears. The last preseason games will be on Sunday, August 25.
In 2024, each NFL team will play three preseason games. This change was implemented recently to shorten the preseason and accommodate the expanded 17-game regular season schedule. The preseason games are crucial for coaches to assess their teams and make final roster decisions.
There is no overtime in NFL preseason games. If a match is tied at the end of regulation, it remains a tie. This rule helps minimize the risk of injuries and allows coaches to evaluate their players without the added pressure of overtime.
Local TV networks will broadcast most games, while FOX, Amazon Prime Video, CBS, ESPN, and NBC feature selected games. The NFL Network also hosts several live broadcasts throughout the preseason.
