How to Score a Pool Once Bye Weeks Start
A running total of correct picks works fine while every week has 16 games. From Week 5 the game count moves around, so pick the scoring method that matches how your group actually plays.

- Set the deadline. Picks lock at the first kickoff, Thursday, October 8 at 8:15 PM ET. Collect sheets by Thursday afternoon.
- Tell everyone the range changed. Confidence pools rank 15 down to 1 this week, not 16. A player who reuses last week’s range hands away a point on their surest game.
- Use the tiebreaker. Every player writes the total points they expect in Bills at Rams on Monday Night Football. Closest guess wins if two players tie on correct picks.
- Score it Monday night. Fill the Total Correct box and compare on whichever method you picked above.
What Changes in Week 5 for Your Pool
- Two teams are off for the first time. Carolina and Kansas City are on bye. From here the slate changes size most weeks, so check the game count before you print, and see the 2026 NFL bye weeks for the rest of the season.
- Survivor pools lose two options at once. Kansas City in particular is a team plenty of players are saving, and it simply is not on the board this week. Anyone holding it has to spend a different team.
- Sunday starts at 9:30 in the morning again. Eagles at Jaguars comes from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which is 2:30 in the afternoon in London, with Jacksonville as the designated home team. It is the second straight week the day opens that early.
- The late window is back to normal. One game at 4:05 and three at 4:25, after Week 4 left only a single game in the early slot.
