Daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026, so the Week 8 Monday night game is the first on standard time. Arizona never changes its clocks: for the Week 2 trip to Glendale the kickoff reads the same in Phoenix as in Seattle, but by the Week 9 rematch Phoenix follows the Mountain column.

Seattle won Super Bowl LX on February 8, 2026, beating New England 29-13 at Levi’s Stadium for the second title in franchise history. Running back Kenneth Walker III was named Most Valuable Player. It is only the second Wednesday season opener in NFL history, after Cowboys at Giants in 2012, and the first Wednesday game the Seahawks have ever played.
The club has built a full day around it. Luke Bryan plays a pregame concert in the North Lot at 2:30 PM Pacific. Mike McCready of Pearl Jam performs the national anthem, then returns at halftime with Soundgarden and Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless. Gates and traffic will be heavier than a normal Sunday, so allow extra time.
New Owners: The Khosla Family Takes Over
The Seahawks have new controlling owners for the first time in 29 years. The sale to the Khosla family closed on Thursday, September 3, 2026, six days before the opener, after NFL owners approved it unanimously on August 26.
Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures, is Chair. Neeru Khosla is Controlling Owner and President of the Seahawks Charitable Foundation. Their son Neal Khosla is Vice Chair. Reports put the price at about 9.6 billion dollars, a record for an NFL club.
The seller was the Estate of Paul G. Allen. Allen bought the team in 1997 and kept it in Seattle, and after his death in 2018 his sister Jody Allen served as Chair. The estate opened the sale process in February, days after the Super Bowl LX win.
Six Prime-Time Games and a First Christmas at Lumen Field
Six prime-time games is a franchise record, and five are at Lumen Field: the opener, Kansas City on Sunday night in Week 7, Chicago on Monday night in Week 8, Dallas on Monday night in Week 13 and the Rams on Christmas night. The sixth is the Thursday trip to Denver in Week 6.
Friday, December 25 is the first Christmas Day game in Seahawks history, and it doubles as a division fixture against the Rams at 8:15 PM ET on FOX. Add the Saturday afternoon game in Philadelphia on December 19 and Seattle plays on every day of the week except Tuesday, a quirk the club flagged on release day.
Lumen Field
Seattle has played at Lumen Field since it opened in 2002. Capacity for NFL games is 68,740. The partial roof covers about 70 percent of seats while leaving the field open, which reflects crowd noise back down instead of letting it escape. Seahawks fans still hold the Guinness record for the loudest crowd roar at an outdoor stadium, set there in 2013.
It hosted six 2026 FIFA World Cup matches in June and July under the neutral name Seattle Stadium. The turf and NFL seating are back, and the Hawks Nest kept the new fully backed seats from that project.
