The headline date comes in Week 11. On Sunday, November 22 the Vikings face the San Francisco 49ers at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City, the first game the franchise has ever played in Mexico. NBC has it on Sunday Night Football.

Two dates are still open, one more than most clubs carry in August. Week 16 against the Washington Commanders is one of four Week 16 games the league left flexible, so it lands on Saturday December 26, Sunday December 27 or Monday December 28. Week 18 against the Chicago Bears is Saturday January 9 or Sunday January 10, 2027, and the league sets it only after Week 17 finishes on January 4.

The shape of the year is unusual. Minnesota plays only five games before an early bye, then runs twelve straight weeks without a break. The four division games are split cleanly: Green Bay and Chicago inside the first ten weeks, Detroit twice across the back half.

Vikings Preseason Schedule 2026

One home date and two on the road in the 2026 NFL preseason. Both opponents are unfamiliar in August: Minnesota has not met the Giants in a preseason game since 1999 and last played the Ravens in one in 2008.

FOX 9 carries all three across Minnesota and KFAN 100.3 FM calls each one. These three games matter more than usual this year because the quarterback job is genuinely open, and how the reps are split will say a lot before Week 1.

What Channel is the Vikings Game On? TV Schedule

FOX carries seven games, which is normal for an NFC club. Nothing on this schedule is locked behind a paywall for viewers inside Minnesota.

  • An antenna covers the whole season in the Twin Cities. FOX, CBS and NBC carry 13 games outright. The Week 9 Monday night game against Buffalo is one of ten 2026 Monday games ESPN also puts on ABC, which means KSTP. The Week 14 Thursday night game is exclusive to Prime Video nationally, but Amazon simulcasts every Thursday game on a free local station in both teams’ home markets, so Minneapolis and St. Paul get it too.
  • The Mexico City game is on NBC. Week 11 at Estadio Banorte is Sunday Night Football, so the biggest date of the Vikings season needs no subscription anywhere in the country. NBC also has the Week 15 home game against Detroit. There is no Netflix game and no Peacock exclusive this year.
  • Flex scheduling can still move things. The NFL can flex a Sunday night game up to twice between Weeks 5 and 10 and in any week from 11 to 17. Monday night can be flexed in any week from 12 to 17, and Thursday night up to twice between Weeks 13 and 17. With Weeks 16 and 18 already unassigned, the back end of this schedule is the least settled part of it.

KFAN 100.3 FM is the flagship radio home and the Vikings Audio Network carries the call across Minnesota and neighbouring states. Preseason games run on FOX 9 locally.

Out of market fans can pick up the Sunday afternoon FOX and CBS games through NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube.

Vikings Kickoff Times in Every Time Zone

Five kickoff windows appear on the card. Central is the Minnesota column, so read that one for a local start time.

8:15 PM7:15 PM6:15 PM5:15 PM

Seven of the 17 games kick at noon Central, so most Vikings Sundays start at the same hour. Travel is the quiet story here. Minnesota never crosses into the Mountain or Pacific zones during the regular season, a rarity in a 17 game year.

Four road trips go east to Tampa Bay, Detroit, New England and the Jets. Three stay in the Central zone at Chicago, New Orleans and Green Bay. Mexico City sits on Central time as well and does not shift the clock in November, so the Week 11 body clock disruption is the flight and the altitude, not the hour.

Vikings 2026 season sheet listing preseason and all 18 weeks with opponents, Eastern starts and broadcasters

The full year on a single page: three preseason games and all 18 regular season weeks with dates, opponents, kickoff times and TV channels. Home games print in bold so the nine U.S. Bank Stadium dates stand out, and every row leaves an empty box for the score.

The strip across the top carries the 9 and 8 home and road split, the Week 6 bye, U.S. Bank Stadium and Kevin O’Connell. The notes panel flags what a table cannot show: the Mexico City fixture, the four prime time dates and the two December and January weeks the NFL has not yet placed. Prefer month grids? This version of the Minnesota Vikings schedule 2026 runs August through January 2027. U.S. Bank Stadium dates are filled in Vikings purple, road dates are outlined in gold, and each square carries the opponent and kickoff time.

November is the month to pin up. Five squares are filled across five straight weekends, including the Monday night date against Buffalo and the Sunday night trip to Mexico City. October is the opposite, with a blank third weekend where the bye sits. January holds one square on the 3rd at the Jets and waits on the finale against Chicago. Also US Letter, also free.

Printing tip: pick “Actual size” or “100%” instead of “Fit to page” so the small type stays sharp.

The Vikings Play in Mexico for the First Time

Week 11 is the date that separates this season from every other one in franchise history. On November 22 the Vikings meet the San Francisco 49ers at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City, and Minnesota has never played a game in Mexico before.

It counts as a road game. San Francisco is the designated home team, which is why Minnesota keeps all nine of its own home dates at U.S. Bank Stadium and still ends up 9 and 8. That detail trips people up, because the Vikings own schedule module lists the fixture without an obvious away marker.

This is the club’s third International Series game in two seasons, after Dublin and London in 2025. Estadio Banorte, the renamed Estadio Azteca, sits at roughly 7,200 feet. That is about 1,900 feet higher than Denver, making it the highest ground any NFL team plays a regular season game on.

There is a personal angle too. Wide receiver Jauan Jennings signed with Minnesota this offseason after six seasons in San Francisco, so his first meeting with the 49ers comes 7,200 feet up in a neutral stadium.

The scheduling around it is kind. Minnesota plays at Green Bay the week before, so it travels twice in a row, but then returns home for two straight games against Atlanta and Carolina. The Falcons visit in Week 12 under Kevin Stefanski, who was hired in Atlanta in January after Cleveland let him go, and who was the Vikings offensive coordinator in 2019.

When is the Vikings Bye Week in 2026?

Week 6, the weekend of October 18. That is the third season in a row Minnesota has drawn a Week 6 bye, and it is early. Byes run from Week 5 to Week 14 in 2026, with none scheduled in Week 12 because of Thanksgiving.

Only five games come before the break and twelve after it, the most lopsided split on the Vikings card in years. Once the team returns on October 25 it plays every week through the end of the season with no scheduled rest.

There is one soft landing built in. The Week 14 Thursday night game at New England is followed by ten days off before the Week 15 home game against Detroit, which functions as a mini bye in the middle of December. That New England trip is also a measuring stick, since the Patriots reached Super Bowl LX last season and lost it to Seattle.

Vikings 2026 Coaching Staff and Key Players

The staff held together. The quarterback room did not.

  • Kevin O’Connell enters his fifth season as head coach and was named AP NFL Coach of the Year for 2024. Wes Phillips stays as offensive coordinator and Brian Flores stays as defensive coordinator after signing an extension in January, giving Minnesota continuity on both sides that most 9-8 teams do not keep.
  • Kyler Murray signed a one year deal at the veteran minimum in March after Arizona released him, ending seven seasons with the Cardinals. He arrived to compete with J.J. McCarthy, the incumbent starter, and most depth charts now list Murray first with McCarthy second and Carson Wentz third. Murray has taken roughly two thirds of the first team reps in camp. O’Connell has not named a Week 1 starter.
  • Justin Jefferson anchors the passing game alongside Jordan Addison and Jauan Jennings, signed from San Francisco on a one year deal, with T.J. Hockenson at tight end. Whoever wins the job inherits one of the deeper receiving groups in the league, which is part of why the competition drew so much attention.
  • Flores’s defense is the constant. Minnesota was eliminated from the playoff race in Week 15 last season, then won its final five games anyway, and that closing run is the reason expectations did not collapse over the winter.

The division was the tightest in football. Chicago won it at 11-6 and visits U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 18. Green Bay finished 9-7-1, Minnesota and Detroit both went 9-8, and the Vikings took third on the head to head sweep of the Lions.

How to Get Minnesota Vikings Tickets

Home tickets run through the official Vikings ticket page, which routes single game sales to Ticketmaster. Verified resale is available on StubHub, SeatGeek and Vivid Seats, and the U.S. Bank Stadium box office sells on game days.

Three home dates price highest: the Week 1 opener against Green Bay, the Monday night game against Buffalo in Week 9 and the Sunday night game against Detroit in Week 15. The Week 7 game against Indianapolis is the value pick, a noon Sunday against a non conference opponent.

Hold off on Weeks 16 and 18 until the league sets the days. The Washington game could land on any of three days between December 26 and 28, and the Chicago finale could be a Saturday, both of which change travel plans for a lot of buyers.

Minnesota Vikings Schedule 2026 FAQ

When do the Vikings play their first game in 2026?

Sunday, September 13, 2026 against the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium, 4:25 PM ET on CBS. It is both the season opener and the home opener, the first time Minnesota has opened at home since 2023. The league year itself starts earlier, on Wednesday September 9, with the Patriots at the Seahawks in a Super Bowl LX rematch.

Where can I get a free printable Minnesota Vikings schedule 2026?

Use the download buttons above. The printable is a one page US Letter PDF with all three preseason games and all 18 regular season weeks, including dates, kickoff times, TV channels and a blank box for each result. A wall calendar version covering August 2026 through January 2027 is also available. Both are free with no sign up or email required.

What channel are Minnesota Vikings games on in 2026?

FOX carries 7 games and CBS has 4. NBC has two Sunday night games in Weeks 11 and 15. The Week 9 Monday night game is on ESPN and simulcast on ABC, and Prime Video has the Week 14 Thursday night game. Weeks 16 and 18 are still TBD. Preseason games air on FOX 9 in Minnesota, and KFAN 100.3 FM is the flagship radio station.

When is the Vikings bye week in 2026?

Week 6, the weekend of October 18. It is the third straight season Minnesota has drawn a Week 6 bye. Only five games come before the break and twelve after it, so the Vikings play every week from October 25 through the end of the regular season with no further scheduled rest. League wide, byes run from Week 5 to Week 14.

Are the Vikings playing in Mexico City in 2026?

Yes. Minnesota faces the San Francisco 49ers at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City on Sunday, November 22, 2026 at 8:20 PM ET on NBC. It is the first game the franchise has ever played in Mexico and the third International Series game in two seasons. San Francisco is the designated home team, so it counts as a Vikings road game.

Who is the Minnesota Vikings quarterback in 2026?

The job is open. Kyler Murray signed a one year deal at the veteran minimum in March after the Arizona Cardinals released him, and he is competing with J.J. McCarthy, who was the incumbent starter. Most depth charts now list Murray first, McCarthy second and Carson Wentz third. Murray has taken about two thirds of the first team reps in training camp, but Kevin O’Connell has not named a Week 1 starter.

Why are the Vikings Week 16 and Week 18 games listed as TBD?

Both are deliberately left open. Week 16 against Washington is one of four games the NFL held back for its Saturday window, so it will fall on December 26, 27 or 28. Week 18 against Chicago is Saturday January 9 or Sunday January 10, 2027, and the league only sets it after Week 17 finishes on January 4, once the playoff picture is clear.

How many Super Bowls have the Vikings won?

None. Minnesota reached the Super Bowl four times and lost each one: Super Bowl IV in January 1970, Super Bowl VIII in January 1974, Super Bowl IX in January 1975 and Super Bowl XI in January 1977. That ties the Buffalo Bills for the most Super Bowl losses by a franchise that has never won one. The Vikings have won 21 division titles, the most of any current NFC North club.

The Minnesota Vikings schedule 2026 front loads the drama and back loads the workload. Five games, an early bye, then twelve straight weeks that include a first trip to Mexico, four prime time dates and two winter weekends the league has not even placed on the calendar yet.
