The non-division draw pairs the AFC East and the NFC West. That means Buffalo, Miami, New England and the Jets, plus Arizona, Seattle, San Francisco and the Rams. Houston, Baltimore and Tampa Bay round out the slate.

Six AFC West games are spread evenly, with Las Vegas in Weeks 2 and 14, Denver in Weeks 5 and 18, and Kansas City in Weeks 6 and 17.

The opening six weeks are front-loaded at home, with three of the first five at SoFi Stadium. The heaviest travel arrives late: Tampa Bay, Las Vegas, Miami and Denver across the last six weeks.

Chargers Preseason Schedule 2026

All three preseason games fall on a Thursday, and two of them are the SoFi Stadium co-tenant matchups fans in Los Angeles look for. Training camp at The Bolt in El Segundo runs from July 29 to August 18.

What Channel Are the Chargers On in 2026?

CBS carries the bulk of the slate, which is normal for an AFC team. Fifteen games have a network attached today. The other two, Week 17 and Week 18, are assigned later.

Out-of-market viewers need NFL Sunday Ticket, which lives on YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels. It carries only the Sunday afternoon windows, so the three national games are not part of it.

Local radio is KFI 640 AM. Only three games are true prime time: Monday night in Baltimore, Sunday night against New England, and the Thursday night meeting with San Francisco.

Kickoff Times by Time Zone

Six of the nine road games take the Chargers out of the Pacific time zone, and three of those are 10:00 AM local body-clock starts in Buffalo, Tampa Bay and Miami. Use this table to convert any listed Eastern time.

Daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 1, 2026. That is the same day as the Week 8 game against the Rams, so everything from Week 8 onward is already on standard time. Arizona does not change its clocks, so viewers there match Pacific from November 1 and Mountain before it.

Chargers 2026 Wall Calendar Printable

The calendar version lays August through December across five monthly grids. SoFi Stadium dates are filled powder blue, road dates are outlined in gold, and each cell shows the opponent abbreviation and Eastern kickoff. Because Week 17 and Week 18 have no date yet, the January games are not on the grid.

Five monthly grids of Chargers game days, blue squares for SoFi Stadium dates and gold outlines for road games

Week 8: A Road Game Inside Their Own Stadium

The oddest line on the 2026 slate is Week 8. The listing reads “at Los Angeles Rams” and the venue reads SoFi Stadium. Both clubs share the building, so one of them is the designated road team each year even though neither travels.

That designation is not cosmetic. It counts against the Chargers’ home total, which is why they hold 8 home games and 9 road games. Every AFC club carries that split in 2026 because the NFC hosts the extra interconference game this cycle. On the day itself the Rams control the locker rooms, the signage and the end zone paint.

The upside is short travel. The Chargers cover no miles for a road game in Week 8, and it lands the week after their bye.

SoFi Stadium and Super Bowl LXI

SoFi Stadium in Inglewood lists 70,240 seats and expands by about 30,000 for major events. It is the NFL’s first indoor-outdoor venue, with a translucent canopy that shades the field while the sides stay open. Chargers crowds run above the listed number: the club averaged 73,411 at home in 2025, seventh best in the league.

The building hosts Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027, the first Super Bowl played on Valentine’s Day and the first carried by ESPN and ABC. That gives the 2026 season an unusual stake for Chargers fans: a deep January run would end in their own stadium. The Rams already did exactly that at SoFi in February 2022, so the path is not theoretical.

For home games the club asks fans to be in their seats 15 minutes before kickoff for the Charge Up to Kickoff sequence. The NFL clear bag policy applies at every gate.

Chargers Bye Week 2026

The Chargers are off in Week 7, the weekend of October 25. It arrives after a six-game stretch that includes both Kansas City and Denver, which is useful timing. Coming out of the break they face the Rams, then Houston, then a Monday night trip to Baltimore.

Fantasy managers should plan cover for Justin Herbert and the Chargers defense that weekend. The bye also sets up the closing stretch: from Week 13 the Chargers play four of six on the road, then finish with Kansas City at home and Denver away, so the AFC West could still be live in January.

The AFC West Drought Hanging Over 2026

The Chargers have not won the AFC West since 2009. Kansas City and Denver have split all 16 titles since. That is the number this schedule is measured against, not the wild card berths.

Last season made the gap look strange. Los Angeles started 5-0 inside the division for the first time in franchise history and swept Kansas City for the first time since 2013. Then it lost at home to Houston in Week 17 and in Denver in Week 18, finished 5-1 in the AFC West, and fell to the seventh seed. The title still went elsewhere.

The 2026 layout gives them another clean shot. Denver visits in Week 5, Kansas City visits in Week 17, and the season ends in Denver. Three of the six division games land at SoFi Stadium, and the last two weeks are both against the teams that have owned the title.

Coaching Staff and Key Players

Jim Harbaugh is in his third year as head coach. The big change is on offense, where Mike McDaniel takes over as coordinator and brings a run-heavy, motion-driven scheme, along with several assistants from his Miami staff including offensive line coach Butch Barry and running backs coach Max McCaffrey. Adam Gase joins as passing game specialist.

Chris O’Leary returns to Los Angeles as defensive coordinator and calls the defense. Shane Day handles quarterbacks as offensive passing game coordinator.

Justin Herbert remains the starting quarterback. His 2026 Pro Bowl nod was only his second and his first since 2021. Safety Derwin James Jr., a five-time Pro Bowler, signed a multi-year extension this offseason. The first-round pick was outside linebacker Akheem Mesidor at No. 22 overall.

Chargers Tickets 2026

Single game and season tickets are sold through chargers.com and Ticketmaster, which runs the club’s Account Manager. Every ticket is mobile only.

The club blocks screenshots with a rotating barcode, and neither printed PDFs nor on-screen PDFs are accepted at the gate, so buy only from a source that can transfer electronically into Account Manager. Anyone three years or older needs a ticket.
