Buffalo Switched to a 3-4
The biggest change in Buffalo this year is structural rather than personnel. Jim Leonhard took over as defensive coordinator and moved the Bills from a 4-3 front to a 3-4, which is not a tweak. It changes who two gaps, who rushes from a standing start and what every linebacker is asked to read before the snap.It is happening in Joe Brady's first season as head coach, so Buffalo is installing a new defense and a new voice at the same time. The Canopy, the Wind and Where You Sit
The assumption everyone made about the new Highmark Stadium was that Buffalo would finally build a roof. It did not. The building is deliberately open air, and the canopy over the seating bowl is there to cut wind rather than close the place in, with the club's own wind studies putting the impact inside the bowl at minimal.That matters more in December than in the first week of October, but Patriots vs Bills sits at the point in the season where the difference between a covered seat and an exposed one starts to be worth knowing before you buy one.
