Only Week 18 has no date. The league sets that trip to Washington after Week 17 ends. Three Week 18 games move to Saturday, January 9, with the 1:00 PM ET slot on Netflix and two more on ESPN and ABC. The rest are played Sunday, January 10. Flexible scheduling can also lift a Sunday afternoon game into Sunday night from Week 5, Monday night from Week 12 and Thursday night from Week 13.
The draw is hard. Eight of the 17 opponents made the 2025 playoffs, including the defending champion Seattle Seahawks on December 7. Dallas meets the Eagles twice inside 31 days, and only the last two weeks are NFC East games, so the division race lands in January.

Week 1: Cowboys at Giants on Sunday Night Football
Sunday, September 13 at MetLife Stadium, 8:20 PM ET on NBC. It is the eighth time in 15 seasons these two have opened against each other, and Dallas has won 11 of 12 all time season openers in the series.
New York looks different. John Harbaugh is the new head coach and Jaxson Dart runs the offense, so Christian Parker’s rebuilt Cowboys defense gets a live test in its first snap of real football. Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens face a reworked Giants secondary.

The August trip to Seattle was worth more than the scoreline. Dallas returns to Lumen Field in Week 13 to face the reigning Super Bowl champions on Monday night.

Three things to know:
- Six prime time games, the fourth straight year with at least six. Three Sunday nights on NBC (Weeks 1, 6 and 16), two Monday nights on ESPN (Weeks 7 and 13) and one Thursday night on Prime Video (Week 5). Four of the six land before December.
- Thanksgiving is not prime time. The Eagles game kicks at 4:30 PM ET on FOX, the middle slot between Bears at Lions in the afternoon and Chiefs at Bills at night. Plan dinner around a 3:30 PM Central start.
- Week 18 could land on a streamer. Dallas has no Christmas Day game this year, so all 16 dated weeks run on FOX, NBC, CBS, ESPN or Prime Video. Week 18 is the exception, with a Saturday Netflix window in play.

Six of the eight road games leave the Central zone, which is how Dallas covers 27,980 miles this season. Four go east to New York, Philadelphia, Indianapolis and Washington. Two go west, to Seattle on December 7 and the Rams on December 20. Rio is the outlier: the 4:25 PM ET kickoff on September 27 is 5:25 PM local, because Brazil does not observe daylight saving time.
Arizona is the exception. The state skips daylight saving, so through Week 7 anyone in Phoenix or Tucson should subtract three hours from Eastern instead of two. Daylight saving ends on Sunday, November 1, which is the morning the Cardinals visit AT&T Stadium. From that game on, the Mountain column reads correctly.

Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro: Week 3 at Maracana Stadium
Sunday, September 27 against the Baltimore Ravens at Maracana Stadium, 4:25 PM ET on CBS. It is the first NFL game staged in Rio and only the second international game in Cowboys history, 12 years after a 31-17 win over Jacksonville in London.
Dallas is the designated home team, and that is the detail people miss. The game counts in the home column and the Cowboys wear home colours, but it is played roughly 5,000 miles from Arlington. Season ticket holders get eight home dates instead of nine, and Rio seats are sold through the NFL international programme, not the club box office.
No bye follows. Week 4 sends Dallas straight to Houston, where the club has not won since 2010, and Week 5 is a short week for Thursday night football. That is three games in 12 days beginning with the flight to Brazil.
Cowboys Thanksgiving Game 2026: Eagles at AT&T Stadium
Thursday, November 26 against Philadelphia, 4:30 PM ET on FOX, a 3:30 PM start in Arlington.
Dallas has hosted on Thanksgiving every year since 1966 except 1975 and 1977. The Eagles have been the opponent only twice, and they won both, 27-0 in 1989 and 33-10 in 2014. The Cowboys have never beaten Philadelphia on the holiday.
The opponent looks different this year. Philadelphia traded three time All-Pro receiver AJ Brown to New England in June, leaving DeVonta Smith and rookie Makai Lemon to carry the passing game. The Eagles still arrive as back to back NFC East champions, four days after Dallas hosts Tennessee and 11 days before the trip to Seattle.
When Is the Cowboys Bye Week in 2026?
Week 14, the weekend of December 13. That is 91 days after the opener and the latest Dallas bye since 1990. The Cowboys play 13 games before the break and 4 after it.
The timing is kinder than it sounds. The Monday night game at Seattle on December 7 adds a day on each side, so the real gap before the Rams game on December 20 is 13 days. Cowboys 2026 Roster, Coaches and Key Players
Dallas finished 7-9-1 last year and missed the playoffs for a second straight season, the first back to back miss since 2019 and 2020. The offense ranked second in the NFL at 391.9 yards per game, with Dak Prescott throwing for 4,522 yards, George Pickens gaining 1,429 receiving yards, CeeDee Lamb 1,077 and Javonte Williams running for 1,201. The defense was the problem, and it cost coordinator Matt Eberflus his job after one season.
Where the roster stands:
- Brian Schottenheimer is in year two. Christian Parker arrives from Philadelphia as defensive coordinator and Klayton Adams stays on offense, so the scheme Prescott ran in 2025 carries over.
- Von Miller signed a one year deal. The eight time Pro Bowler is the active career sacks leader at 138.5 and had nine sacks for Washington last season. He is 37 and grew up in DeSoto, half an hour from AT&T Stadium. Dallas now has three former first round picks at outside linebacker in Miller, Rashan Gary and rookie Malachi Lawrence.
- The defensive front was rebuilt across two windows. Quinnen Williams came from the Jets in a November 2025 trade and Kenny Clark is in his second Cowboys season. This offseason brought Gary from Green Bay, safety Jalen Thompson to start opposite Malik Hooker, plus P.J. Locke and Cobie Durant. First round pick Caleb Downs joins the same secondary.
- A late tackle trade. Dallas acquired Broderick Jones from Pittsburgh on August 29 for 2027 third and sixth round picks, receiving a 2027 fourth in return. Jones competes with Terence Steele at right tackle. Tyler Guyton is settled at left tackle.
- The 53 skew veteran. Only six rookies made the cut on August 30, and Camden Brown was the sole undrafted player. Linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore opened on injured reserve with a designation to return, Liufau after a fractured forearm against the Saints. Running back Emari Demercado was claimed off waivers to back up Javonte Williams.
