How Do You Watch NFL on Prime Video?

You need an active Amazon Prime membership. There is no extra fee for football and no cable login is required. Open the Prime Video app or go to amazon.com, sign in, and the game is on the home screen from 7:00 PM ET.

Supported devices include:

• Smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony, Vizio and Hisense
• Streaming players such as Fire TV, Roku, Apple TV and Chromecast
• Phones and tablets through the Prime Video app
• Laptops and desktops at Amazon.com
• PlayStation and Xbox consoles

Four other ways to watch the same game:

• Local broadcast TV: every Thursday game airs free over the air in the home markets of both competing teams, so an antenna is enough if your team is playing.
• Twitch: each game is simulcast live and free to watch.
• NFL+: phone and tablet viewing only, at $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year.
• Spanish audio: Miguel Gurwitz and Rolando Cantú call every game on the TNF en Español stream inside Prime Video.

Record the season. Opt in once in the Prime Video app and every game, pregame show and alternate stream is saved to the cloud until the next season starts. It uses no DVR space, and you can pause, rewind and fast forward during live games.

Without recording, you still get 15 minutes of rewind from the point you joined.

Prime Video streams Thursday Night Football in 1080p HDR rather than 4K, so a standard membership already gets you the best available picture quality.

How Much Does Amazon Prime Cost in 2026?

• Prime monthly: $14.99 a month
• Prime annual: $139 a year, which works out to about $11.58 a month
• Prime for Young Adults: $7.49 a month or $69 a year for ages 18 to 24 and verified students, with a 6 month free trial
• Prime Access: $6.99 a month with qualifying government assistance such as SNAP, Medicaid, WIC or SSI
• Free trial: 30 days for eligible new members

Prime prices come from Amazon’s membership page, checked November 7, 2026; the game list is from the NFL’s May 2026 schedule release.

Amazon sells Prime Video on its own for $8.99 a month, but it documents Thursday Night Football as a Prime membership benefit, so a full Prime plan is the reliable route for football.

The Prime Video Ultra add-on costs $4.99 a month or $45.99 a year for ad free viewing and 4K titles. You do not need it for football.

Amazon states that live sports may still include ads on Ultra, and TNF is not offered in 4K, so it adds nothing for NFL viewers.

Who Calls Prime Video NFL Games?

Al Michaels returns on play by play with Kirk Herbstreit as analyst and Kaylee Hartung on the sideline. Charissa Thompson hosts TNF Tonight with Tony Gonzalez, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth and Richard Sherman, plus Taylor Rooks on features and Ian Rapoport as NFL insider.

Prime Vision with Next Gen Stats is a separate feed you select in the Prime Video app. It layers real time player tracking over the live picture, with Prime Insights graphics built on Amazon’s own AI models, including Defensive Alerts, Coverage ID, Pocket Health and Four-Down Territory.

The audience keeps growing. Amazon reports the 2025 season averaged 15.33 million viewers, up 16 percent on the year, and the Packers at Bears Wild Card game in January 2026 drew a record 31.61 million.

Black Friday, Christmas Eve and the Amazon Prime Video NFL Playoff Game

  Week 16, Texans at Eagles
Thursday, December 24 at 8:15 PM ET. Prime Video does not carry a game on Christmas Day itself, which belongs to Netflix and Fox in 2026.
• New Year’s Eve
  Week 17, Ravens at Bengals
Thursday, December 31 at 8:15 PM ET, an AFC North rivalry game to close the calendar year.
• Wild Card Playoff Game
